Ceiling Tile Idea Book | Ceiling Picture Book
With the advent of pinterest and Houzz and all sorts of other places where we can share our favorite ceiling pictures with the world, Ceiling Tile Ideas has decided to create a space right here where in addition to pinning and liking and digging and “whatevering”, we will add pictures of rooms we like and recommend tiles that can be used to achieve the look.
So check back daily to see what we’ve been busy “tiling.” Please feel free to ask questions, and leave your comments too. This is the perfect place to share ideas, suggestions, and get advice not only from ceiling tile experts, but also from design professionals, contractors, and lay people, like yourself with a discerning eye.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love how West Elm used tin ceiling tiles to style their showroom and show the rest of us just how easy it is to transform a room from fine to fabulous!
To create the look simply order the Savannah Square Aluminum Tile #2402 and either Lincoln Square Tile 1211 or even Madison Square Tile 1201. We are not sure what color to recommend to replicate the look – we would probably DIY or if you are as inept and un-handy as we are, you can always ask Milan, at DecorativeCeilingTiles.net, to create a custom pearlized color for you.

Another, significantly less expensive option, that will give a similar look, is to go with foam tiles and pay again, paint them yourself. Unless, you tap them, like we did, it is difficult to tell the difference. This time we would combine the ever popular Foam Ceiling Tile R-24 and Chestnut Grove R31

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love, love, love this bathroom remodel — be sure to Watch the Video Clip of Decorative Ceiling Tiles on Bath Crashers DIY Network’s show with Matt Muenster. We especially like that Matt tells it like it is — these are fake tin tiles that look authentic and make a huge difference in the entire look of the room.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love the chic black ceiling mixed with wood. Mia Francesca, a fabulous new Scott Harris restaurant (out of Chicago) just opened in Del Mar, CA — just minutes from my house. Check out their ceiling! It is definitely the Delicate Daisies Pattern. Unfortunately, authentic tin / aluminum tiles cannot be ordered in black but they can definitely be painted black. A great, more economical alternative that can be used to achieve a very similar look is the faux tin ceiling tile in black pictured above.

Plus, Harris chose to use a faux tin border just above his booths to bring the room together. Although Mia Francesca’s designers did not choose to coordinate the ceiling and the border, we would definitely recommend sticking with a single pattern or at least a coordinating pattern.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love the juxtaposition of the contemporary wood dining room furniture with the classical tin ceiling. Don’t you agree, the tin ceiling makes the whole room pop!

Why we chose to tile this photo: Couldn’t help thinking this almost perfect room would be outstanding with the addition of tin ceiling tiles that would compliment the diamond pattern and shiny glossy surfaces. B.G.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love the way an intricately tiled ceiling can complement a simpler, sleek, modern styled dinning space.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love this idea of using tin ceiling tiles to create a magnet board island as the centerpiece of your kitchen.

Why we chose to tile this photo: With the Super Bowl this weekend, we have “man caves” on the mind. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to enjoy the game with friends and family in a room like this. Yes, you can buy the house for a mere $7 million or DIY and create your very own man cave — who really wants to maintain 24,000 square feet of perfection, anyway? Just add a faux tin ceiling accentuated with ample molding, maybe faux leather decorative wall panels ( how cool would that be), a huge tv (obviously) and sound system, and maybe a pool table or ping pong table if you have the room. For furniture, a black or brown leather/ suede recliner is a must with coordinating leather or suede couches.

Why we chose to tile this photo: We love Shawn Gauthier’s explanation of how to add style with ceiling molding:
“Molding is what you make of it. Instead of traditionally applying it only where the walls meet the ceiling, have some fun with it by creating designs on the ceiling itself. Don’t worry about the designs being perfectly balanced across the ceiling: these diamond shapes aren’t in a perfect repeat, making them all the more interesting.”
To make the entire projects way easier, simply order a few ceiling tiles, paint them to match your ceiling and glue them up. The tiles can be easily cut with a scissors so to achieve the look of the smaller square molding simply cut out the inner square of the big tile or cut the tile on an angle to create the look of some of the odd shaped corners. (I just spoke with Milan over at Decorative Ceiling Tiles.net and he said not to worry about the order minimums but definitely recommends buying a few extra tiles for two reasons: 1.) In case you mess one up and 2.) because you will definitely want to use the extra tiles for another project such as creating ceiling tile frames or or even a ceiling tile headboard)
Why we chose to tile this photo: We think this is a great example of combining two different tile styles to create a statement backsplash. We especially like the fact that the tiles can be custom painted to match any decor.

Why we chose to tile these photos: We love the way faux leather panels completely transform a room plus their acoustical qualities make faux leather panels ideal for use in contemporary, transitional, and traditional media rooms.

Why we chose to tile these photos: We love everything about Anastasia Beverly Hills Salon but especially love that they chose classic, always elegant white ceiling tiles to decorate their fifth wall.
Get the look! (We just spoke to our buddy Milan over at Decorative Ceiling Tiles and he reminded us to remind you that if you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to email him or give him a call at 1-866-297-0380. Be sure to tell him Marcia says “hello”!
Have a few tiles left over? Decorative ceiling tiles make great headboards, planters, and picture frames!
Make it a beautiful day!
